She loved to shop, travel with Lynn, ignore the cautions of her daughter and boss around her son-in-law. Mildred was always stylish, witty, and charming. She used her gift of design to decorate her home and created flower gardens. Mildred retired from the business in the late 1990’s and thoroughly enjoyed her much earned retirement years. In the late 1960’s, the Echerds started the business that became Country Carpets, serving the county for the next four decades. Mildred left her job at Modern Cleaners after the birth of her only child, Lisa, in 1964. In 1958, Mildred married Lynn Echerd and they made their home in Ellendale where she would live for the next 62 years. She was raised in the Sugar Loaf community with her older sisters, the late Margie Daniels and the late Clara Daniels Thomas. Mildred was born Main Alexander County, the daughter of the late Lilliard and Maude Daniels.
